Accountability System Overview

Barry County Emergency Management is currently implementing the Accountability System purchased through Salamander Technologies. Adoption of this system will result in all response agencies operating within Barry County becoming one step closer to National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance. This system involves the use of specially designed hardware and software, along with other existing technologies, to provide emergency responders, incident commanders, and emergency operation centers with the tools to manage incidents and increase personnel safety.

The main features in this system are the ID tags and scanning hardware. These tags contain important information such as emergency contacts and voluntary medical data. They also provide for scene security and time tracking. We have started to contact local agencies and departments to set up photo shoots. If you have not received a form already, please download one here and mail or fax the completed form to The Swisher Group, 223 S. Broadway St., Hastings, MI 49058 - Fax: 269-948-3736. A manufacturer's brochure is also available for download. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Emergency Management.
